It’s official. We’ve begun the formal process of leaving the European Union.
Whatever your view on Brexit, it’s a time of great uncertainty for everyone, not least the farmers and workers who grow some of our favourite food and drink.
From tea and coffee, to cocoa and bananas, we’re a big buyer of produce from some of the world’s poorest countries. In fact farmers and workers from over 100 developing countries currently send £34 billion worth of goods to us every year.
Under EU trade rules, many don’t have to pay to get their produce on our shop shelves. Now they’re about to be dealt a devastating £1 billion import tax bill – unless our government acts fast to put new rules in place.
These farmers deserve to know if they can still depend on us to earn a living. Tell our Trade Minister, Liam Fox, to move fast and reassure them they still have tax free access to the UK market –

SIGN THE PETITIONIt’s time to remind Liam Fox that a ‘great, global trading nation’ must make sure its trade works for everyone. Brexit presents him with a big opportunity to deliver even better trade that brings prosperity to the poorest countries around the world as well as the UK.
